The Story

A Life in Hair

Sacha Cohen has been passionate about beauty and hair since he was a teenager working in Paris, Milan, and New York City. He has worked with iconic fashion photographers Peter Lindbergh and Arthur Elgort, and his creative approach to hair has been featured in Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and Glamour.

He spent years lending his expertise to the great design houses — Yves Saint Laurent, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Chanel — before turning his focus to the craft he is known for today: the original dry cut. Cutting hair dry, as it lives, gives each client more texture, more control, and a cut that grows out beautifully.

His mission has never changed: beautiful cut, color, and style that reveal each client's true beauty.

The Legacy

Sacha & Olivier

In 1993, Sacha and his partner Olivier Mikhailoff opened Sacha & Olivier in the heart of the Flatiron District — a cozy European-style salon deliberately removed from the Madison Avenue scene. For more than three decades it has been a quiet New York institution: the home of the original dry cut, trusted by a devoted clientele and requested for salon and editorial work alike.
